The processing quality of laser tube cutting machine has a great influence on the whole production process. The selection of auxiliary gas is also very important. The right gas can make the tube processing achieve twice the result with half the effort.
When the laser cutting machine is working, the spot formed by focusing the laser beam by lens will be irradiated on the surface of the material to be cut, so that its temperature will rise in a short time, thus reaching the melting point or boiling point of the material to be cut.

During the cutting process, the surface of the material to be cut can reflect the laser to a certain extent. During cutting, auxiliary gas can be sprayed to increase the absorption of laser by the surface of the material to be cut, thereby improving the cutting efficiency. Auxiliary gas generally uses oxygen, nitrogen, compressed air and other inert gases.
Oxygen is used as auxiliary gas because oxygen promotes oxidation reaction on the surface of the cut tube, thereby improving cutting efficiency.
When the laser cutting power and cutting speed are constant, the greater the oxygen pressure, the larger the slit, and the rougher and larger the cut section stripes;

When the oxygen pressure is reduced, the slit becomes thinner, and the cut section stripes are thin and smooth, but when the pressure drops to a certain value, the pipe will have a significant single-sided cutting effect but at the same time, slag will appear. The slag will fall to the opposite side and affect the entire cutting accuracy, and sometimes it will even be difficult to cut the cut pipe.
When cutting high-thickness pipes, special-shaped pipes or pipes of special materials, nitrogen and other inert gases are required as auxiliary gases. Combined with the metal and physical properties of the cut pipe, compressed air can be selected as the auxiliary gas to control costs without affecting the overall cutting efficiency of the laser pipe cutting machine.
